Professor Inukai also known as Mototsugu Inukai (犬養 基継) is a character in the Corrector Yui manga and anime.
He was the one that created the Eight Softwares that were meant to defend ComNet.
Inukai was driving when Grosser tried to make him tell where the software was, but since Inukai launched them into a location even he didn't know, Grosser interfered with his driving, causing him to drive down a cliff, and supposedly die.
However, he was somehow saved by a hospital, with his consciousness inside ComNet, and with amnesia.
Apparently, he is Haruna's uncle.
