Corrector Yui (コレクター・ユイ Korekutaa Yui) is a Japanese anime series created by Kia Asamiya. It was produced by Nippon Animation and broadcast on NHK Educational TV from April 2, 1999 to October 6, 2000. The series consist of 52 episode divided into 2 season, each season consist of 26 episodes.
It was licensed for North American release by Viz Media. This series has aired on Cartoon Network outside the United States.
The anime was adapted into a manga series by its creator Kia Asamiya that was published on March 3, 1999 before the anime aired. It was also adapted into another manga series by Keiko Okamoto on April 28, 1999. The manga got a sequel called Corrector Yui (Ver.2) that adapted the second season of the anime.
Story[]
In the year 2020, a massive central network called Comnet links the computers of the world, forming a single global computer system. Comnet, designed to serve the interests of mankind, is managed by the supercomputer, Grosser. But when Grosser decides to take over the world, a savior is needed!
A computer-illiterate girl named Yui Kasuga happens upon software program IR, which recruits her as savior of Comnet and pulls her into the virtual world inside. There, Yui is given the power to become Corrector Yui so that she can fight against Grosser and his evil Corruptors.
The second season takes place a few months after Grosser has been restored to his original state, and the story explores the cause of the outbreak of a new type of powerful computer virus, Buggles.

The seires was created based on the Japanese novels "Nanso Satomi Hakkenden". This series follows a basic Magical girl progression, but Corrector Yui's magic powers all derive from incorporated entirely into her digital avatar as antivirus software for the virtual world, with no real powers granted outside of network.
